The Raspail market is located in Saint Germain des Pres, which is a very nice and upscale area. It might not surprise you then, that the market is also the most chic and most expensive too! About forty vendors set up their stalls between Rue de Renne and Rue du Cherche Midi. You might even see a few famous French people while you're there.
The Marché Raspail is an organic market with all kinds of wonderful finds. The baker sells bread according to their clients' preferences... baguette with grains or pain au chocolat with poppy seeds?
The real specialties here, though, are the fruits and vegetables. One of the stand sells “organic-dynamic” fruits, which means they are grown according to the organic principles while following the harvest star calendar.
Everything organic is sold here: rustic lavender honey, lots of cheese and delicious organic chicken that is roasted before your eyes.
The service is usually very friendly. You will appreciate the way French vendors actually bother to ask when you actually plan to eat their produce. They can select it for you accordingly.
